About Me

You can call me Kat.

I am asking  you to let me be your Councilor.    Why?

I live here.  I work here.  I have been here, my whole life long.  I know the History and the Geography of here,  Cavan Monaghan - an agricultural and ecological treasure trove.   I strongly believe that our Past, Present and Future deserve equal respect.   I have the knowledge and the skills to to move us productively and responsibly into the Future.    I listen, I analyze, I care.

my history

Hometown:  Orono, Ontario

Attended Orono Public School and Clarke High School

I am the daughter of  Orono lawyer W. Kay Lycett. From a young age, I searched titles with my dad at the Port Hope Land Registry Office. I learned the fabric of the lands we now call the Township of Cavan Monaghan.  Back in those days, the Village of Millbrook and the Township of Cavan, were still within the County of Durham as was the former Township of Manvers, the Township of Hope the Town of Port Hope, and the Townships of Clarke and Darlington (now Clarington).  My appreciation for the History and Geography of the place I live and work, started at age 4, and has never left me.
